An Evening of Live Music with Takács Quartet: February 4-5 2018

February 01, 2018

Let live music whisk you away for an unforgettable evening. The Grammy Award-winning string quartet, Takács Quartet, will be playing at the Grusin Musical Hall at CU Boulder February 4-5, 2018. With over 30 years of sold-out concerts, international acclaim and unmatched artistry, the quartet’s concert will have you experiencing classical music like you’ve never heard it before. In 2014, the Takács became the first string quarter to win the Wigmore Hall Medal, which recognizes major international artists. With a fresh perspective, the quartet seamlessly combines drama, warmth and humor into a sophisticated repertoire including Mozart and Dohnányi, that you’ll look back on for years.

The evening’s program:
Mozart: String Quartet No. 14 in G Major, K.387
Vaughan Williams: Four Hymns for Tenor, Viola and Piano
Matthew Chellis, tenor
Geraldine Walther, viola
Andrew Cooperstock, piano
Dohnányi: Quintet No. 2 in E-flat minor for Piano and Strings, Op. 26
Andrew Cooperstock, piano
