Colorado's Cultural Headquarters

October 10, 2016

While it’s no secret that Denver is a city most prefer to enjoy out of doors, there’s a multitude of reasons to ditch the sunscreen and head to a museum near you! Here are a few of our faves close to Hotel Indigo Denver and the downtown area:

The Children’s Museum of Denver

An afternoon at the museum can tough on little ones’ attention, and trying for parents. Not so at the Children’s Museum of Denver, where children are encouraged to roam between interactive exhibits based on natural adventure, space exploration, and physics. All you need is a little kid-tuition.

The American Museum of Western Art

While the country changed dramatically since its frontier days “cowboys and indians” remains an enduringly nostalgic piece of Americana, thanks to early television programs. Relieve the dramatic settlement of the West in this unique museum, as depicted by the nation’s foremost artists.

Denver Art Museum

Admired for its extensive collection of Native American art, the Denver Art Museum is housed in Daniel Libeskind’s architectural wonder. Across all seven floors you’ll discover intriguing displays of Pre-Colombian, Asian, and modern European masterpieces, thoughtfully curated by the museum’s staff.
