Denver Does Oktoberfest

September 04, 2017

Time to dust off those lederhosen and dirndl skirts. Denver is once again preparing to celebrate Oktoberfest, everyone’s favorite German tradition of beer drinking, music, and dance. Despite the name, this Denver festival actually takes place on two weekends in September, the 22nd and 23rd as well as the 29th and 30th, from 11 A.M. to midnight. You’ll chow down on delicious German delicacies like sausage, Sauerkraut, turkey legs, Bratwurst, pizza, soft pretzels, and a variety of sweets. Attendees can participate in the Brat Eating competition, the Stein Hoisting competition, the Long Dog Derby, and other exciting games. And of course, there will be beer galore for you to imbibe at this second largest Oktoberfest in the United States (the crowd tends to number around half a million, a figure topped only by Cincinnati’s 900,000 strong Oktoberfest). Admission to the festival is free, and you can use cash or credit to purchase tickets for your drinks.

Address: 1301-1349 21st St, Denver, CO 80205
